Marina Bay Suites, Singapore 2013
We first remember that the clients wanted the interiors with a Giorgetti feel. We tested the layout & overall flow from entrance to dining & living to the outdoor balcony but felt that the look will not be able to accommodate the client’s brief for a party of 8 guests. This was apparent as the typology of the Giorgetti furniture was bulky and did not fit the compact space. We convinced the clients to go with mixed brands versus a single brand look which was their earlier brief.
We suggested mixing brands according to the space and opted for linear horizontal sofa & chaise lounger from Minotti, a compact armchair from Liaigre and a pouf from Flexform. Compact side tables from Bottega were selected against a large coffee table to allow for a smooth transition from living to the balcony area that overlooks the Marina Bay Area. That was the star attraction as we were on the 55th storey, almost in line with the top deck of the MBS. The dining area adopted an unusual square large dining table and was tuck closer to one wall with a dining bench seating from Liaigre & 6 dining chairs from Proltrona Frau. This immediately freed up the flow from entrance through dining & living to the balcony.
The client loves to entertain & frequently host private lunch & dinner parties. The lady of the house would invite private chef, bartenders & the floral stylist when such occasions arises. Hencefore, Terre had to design and organised all the spaces for such activities to flow smoothly right down to the styling and displays.
The clients love the gentlemen club feel, we introduced them in the entrance and the master study spaces. They also love the traditional wall panelling works, hence, we designed them simple & contemporary & kept the overall base palette monochromatic and layered with a curated mix of decorative light fixtures from Serge Mouille, Michael Anastassiades & Ecart.
Fast forward 9 years later, Terre was tasked to design their 4th home, a conservation townhouse, The Olive House. T
